Mbappe shared his decision through an emotional video posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, where he expressed his mixed feelings about his departure. “It’s a lot of emotions, many years where I had the chance and the great honor to be a member of the biggest French club, one of the best in the world,” he stated. He also mentioned that this weekend’s match against Toulouse at Parc des Princes would be his final game for the club.
During his tenure at PSG, Mbappe transitioned from a promising talent to a world-class forward. He joined PSG in 2017 from AS Monaco on a loan that later turned into a permanent transfer worth £166 million. Throughout his career at PSG, he has won six Ligue 1 titles and has become the club’s all-time leading scorer with 255 goals in 306 appearances.
Despite PSG’s recent disappointments in the Champions League, Mbappe has a few more opportunities to play for the club, including the upcoming French Cup final against Lyon.
